Before Sunday, was Saturday. I've been having dreams of travel, so I decided to go somewhere I've never been (or remember having gone to, anyway). This meant Vashon Island. It's a good time of year to go, I suspect, since the weather wasn't too bad, but there also wasn't anyone else there. There also isn't anywhere to eat except a Mexican place, which I wasn't in the mood for. Turns out the town is off in the middle of the island rather than conveniently placed at the ferry dock. So I had a yummy lunch of Orange Crush and Knotts Berry Farm Cookies out of a vending machine.

Whoa! The colours, dude!

The anemone and the snail both look like they've been processed somehow, I'm just not used to colours like that in my limited slice of nature.

I also really like the beachscapes.

Gorgeous! I think my favorite is the last one; the lighting is fantastic.

I love that last one, too. It's the top of a concrete/rebar/metal reinforcement at the base of a piling on the ferry dock. (I was under the dock, so the lighting was indeed pretty fun.) This one is high enough up the beach that it wasn't covered in barnacles and mussels like the others. It just looks like it could be a full-sized temple of some kind.
