Today, looking at myself in the bathroom mirror, I asked, "what is this strange shiny thing on my head?" Why, it's my first grey hair!

I was a few weeks shy of seventeen when I found MY first silver thread. It went downhill from there. By the time I was 26 my hair was pretty much the colour you know it now - full silver - without benefit of liberal application of dye.

I kinda quit dyeing after about ten years of that. It's an endless chore, the roots are ALWAYS showing, and after a while you seem to do nothing else but run as fast as you can to keep up with your dye job. So I quit. By 40,I could be used as a lightsource in a dark room. Full silver now. Not yet fifty years old.

I didn't have any in my hair itself last time it was long enough to be able to tell, but I've had a couple in my beard for a few years now.

I still catch sight of them sometimes and think I've got something stuck in my beard or something.
