Date: 2011-04-10 06:19 am (UTC)Horizon Books was a delightful albeit cramped store in an old craftsman house on 15th Ave E on Cap Hill, a block north of Safeway. The cart holding $1 or less deals on the front stoop called out to me every time I walked past, and once up there, how can one not come in and chat with the owner? Sadly, That location closed, but the store apparently moved to Pike & 10th, according to this useful list (http://recollectionbooks.com/seattle.html).
That list reminded me about Seattle Mystery Bookstore - not sure how much of a used selection they have, I've never gone in despite it being on the same block where I work in Pioneer Square (and close to your workplace, too, if I'm not mistaken.) I can tell you their window seems to hold many an intriguing thriller.
