Hanging out at the Center House right now, listening to bands play on a lousy sound system at a St Patricks festival. I just checked out an apartment up on Queen Anne Hill. It's a lot like other places I've lived--old, quirky, possibly not up to code. No dishwasher and only a stand up shower (with really cool tiles!) It has a really, really cool closet. I should probably look at other places, but I'm awfully tempted.
Did I mention it's in the basement of an old brick building that may well be a death trap when The Big One hits? But I'm not certain I could find anywhere I'd want to live that wouldn't be a death trap.

On which note: A friend of mine lives in this building (http://api.seattlerentals.com/searentAPI-1.7/webservice_getUnitDetailHtml.json.php?appid=3&uid=12701) and I just saw the sign up for an apartment available. It's not terribly quirky itself, but I can assure you that you'd have plenty of quirky neighbors.

ah the joys of Seattle Apartment hunting. At least it isn't a walking closet market as an apartment a la Capitol Hill houses I've seen.

Do make sure you check for morning glories first...
