Question on news in Cuba

For a random detail in a short story I'm writing, I'm trying to find out how an when non-government Cubans would have found out about America's first landing on the moon.

Also, airplane flights from other countries still occur regularly.

ADDITIONALLY...Cuba gets information via ambassadors from other countries than the US.

I'm just trying to figure out what circumstances a little girl in a village would find it out. I don't know what kind of censorship was going on back then. But they'd definitely be getting American radio, so I really don't have to worry about it.
