I feel really bad that I can't remember. But I haven't had goat milk in over fifteen years.
I remember thinking it was like drinking cheese, but I'm not sure that helps since I was ten and we have no idea what kind of cheese I meant. Also, ten year olds are insane.
goat milk tastes gamey, like the difference between beef and venison or elk. To me,it tastes like the goat smells (I raised goats for a couple of years). It's hard to milk a goat without getting some of the goat hair in the milk, too. Ask me anything else you need to know about specifics...
As Karen said, goat milk tastes gamy. It is also... more savory? Less sweet? Something like that. It has a stronger smell, for sure, and I *think* (but could be wrong) a lower fat content.
Other random factual info: Goat milk either does not contain or contains very little lactose and is a better match for human babies than cow milk.

When I typed "difference between cow and goat milk" into Google, all I really got was that the globules of fat in goat milk are a micrometer smaller than cow milk.
What Karen said--the milk has a 'goaty' flavour to it. Just how goaty depends on how well the goats were cared for and how clean they were kept. It's just slightly thicker and definitely richer than even whole cow's milk.
Hi, I found this post through taleriaknt. In my experience, goat milk is much more sensitive to the conditions under which it was produced... such as how clean the milk is, what the goats were eating, the season, and whether or not a buck was living in the same pen as the milkers. I suppose that it depends on your source - if you have your own goat, if you're buying it from the store, etc.. and how the milk is treated: if it's cooled quickly, is clean and fresh, if it's ultra-pasteurized or raw. Getting the hair out of the milk can be taken care of by using a milk filter, but perhaps some of the taste lingers even after the hair is removed... I'm not sure. Basically, I've experienced a VERY wide range of flavors, from sweet and absolutely divinely delicious and creamy to grassy or goaty and gross. It's kind of a crapshoot. :) And of course there's the health benefits to consider... nutritionally it's equal or better for you than cows milk, is easier to digest (even lactose intolerant folks can usually drink it) because it is very close in construction to human milk. It's also the most widely-consumed milk in the world, just not here. :) Hope that helps!
