nonionay: (nano summoning)

So I got Accelerando, by Charlie Stross, to read during post-Nano burnout. I figure if I like it, I'll buy it for my dad. But no, I'm full of productive energy, so poor Accelerando is sitting unloved by my bed.

I typed up my Nano Draft Zero in NeoOffice, but afterwards, I imported it into Scrivener, which I'm kind of in love with. I divided it up into sections (based on pov) which I can easily switch between. That way, I can easily look at a single character's story arc and determine what needs to be done with it. There are several early scenes which I had to skip over, but now, the holes are taking definite shapes, and I'm dropping fragments and notes into them until I have critical mass and can write them. Working with a single, massive text file, if I was reading over a chapter, and realized I needed to mention something earlier, I would just stick a note in a separate file, or in the text and hope I got around to fixing it. Now, there's no scrolling, I just click on the appropriate scene, type what I need, and go right back to where I was. I have Mori open in the background for my notes and massive worldbuilding files, and >mwah!< I am happy. :-)

Hrrr... Of course, I'm procrastinating right now. Avoiding the next big scene which is a literal boatload of people flipping out in ways that I hope will be relevant to the plot.

You're missing a = in your link to Scrivener.

Which, btw, sounds really awesome. I'll have to check it out. Good luck on your exploding boatload ;)

Thanks. :-)
It's Mac only, but there's got to be something like it for the PC.
