nonionayWhile editing Book 1, I'm flailing around with plotting Book 2. I've worked out the basics of faerie politics (but still have to cover the human politics), I've got characters well-sketched. But I'm not feeling the will to write. I think, "what happens next? And run into a brick wall. Part me is saying I just need to shut up and write it and not insist on having everything outlined in advance. But I've already written 20,000 words on it. Thinking about it, I'm slowly recognizing my problem.
Before, the story was supposed to be romantic erotica. Now, I need to figure out what the Primary Story Goal is. before, it was defeat the bad guy. Now, the bad guy isn't quite as threatening. So when I next get to sit down and plot, I have to list all the characters and mark down their goals, short and long term. Once I can determine a topic everyone is passionate about, I can work out the PSG.
