May. 24th, 2007 09:06 amSo I read Holly Black's book, Tithe, and loved it. So I want to read the next one. I get the next one, discover that it's not about the same characters. After reading one chapter, I get the third one, which I know has what I want in it, and soon realize that Holly Black is doing what I do, which is, write one book, then a second book about totally different characters in the same world, and tie them together in the third book. So suddenly, I find myself paralysed. Should I go back and read book 2, even though I'm heavily into book 3? Oh, no! I think I'll trek onward through 3, since I want to be able to write my books so that people who end up in my situation aren't screwed.
In the meantime, I'll just feel stupid and reckless.
