Dream and stuff
Feb. 13th, 2007 11:06 amLast night I dreamed I was in a warzone in Thailand. I think what happened was that I was with a bunch of tourists, and no one thought that the war would actually be there. But anyway, it was, and I was slowly trying to get out. I woke up, heard the pre-dawn birdsong, and thought, "I hope I don't go back to that dream." Well, I did. But, as has happened in past cases like this, I became lucid. Specifically, I was with
kehrli and we were walking down a jungle road. Things were getting tense, and I told Keffy to look at her hands. I looked at mine, and then told Keffy I didn't have enough power to get us out of the dream entirely, but I could get us to safety. I did it, but it wasn't easy, and I stayed lucid enough to alter things throughout the rest of the dream.
Part of this could also be because I saw Pan's Labyrinth last night, and was thoroughly disgusted by that girl's behavior in otherworlds. For someone who read lots of fairy tales, she doesn't know shit. But it was still an awesome movie.
I also did cleaning up in the dream. After we left the warzone, I cleaned my room in the dream. I had a huge rack of CDs, most of which weren't opened. That might have been because I started a LibraryThing account, and spent last night entering a hundred and four books into it.
In other news, I finally got my rejection letter from Anne Groell at Bantam. it was a nice, personalized one, where she said it was interesting, but didn't hold her attention.

Date: 2007-02-13 09:06 pm (UTC)Re: Pan's Labyrinth though, I don't know if you thought of this, but it hit me after the movie and I suddenly was like AWESOME! Her behavior disgusted me too, and in the theatre I explained it away as there being some kind of magical magnetism pulling people toward doing That One Thing that is hard to resist. But when I left, I realized that You Know Who couldn't prove Who They Really Are without behaving The Way They Did. Think about it--it was part of the test!
