We watched about half of Repo Men tonight. Being a little boring, we didn't watch the second half. In case you didn't know, it's about repossessing artificial organs. I think they were going for a dark comedy, but they didn't go far enough. They should have played it more like Idiocracy. Now there's a stupid premise that took it all the way.
The premise is beyond my considerable threshold for suspension of disbelief. (Seriously, how is this legal? Cars and houses get repoed, but we don't have a right to cars and houses. (though the latter might be nice) We do, however, have a right to life. They don't even get into the sort of dystopian politics that would allow it.) But if they'd made it completely absurd, it could have been fun. Instead, they couldn't decide if it would be absurd satire or a serious thriller.

However, before that, we watched Batman: Under the Red Hood, and it was pretty awesome, even if it's weird not having Mark Hamill voice the Joker.

But if it had been absurd and fun, then it would have been Repo!. Oh, wait...
