Today is productive day!
After visiting the airport and the Land Where Pedestrians Dare Not Tread, I was thoroughly worn out, and so delayed sorting stuff for a potential garage sale in favor of making tiaras. I dug through our movie collection until I found a Western (Stagecoach) and plunked in front of the tv, surrounded by beads and wire. I'm satisfied with my two creations. They're both lopsided, but with the second one, I knew what mistakes not to make, and so it's lopsided in a different way. The ends aren't the most aesthetically pleasing things, even though they'd be covered by hair. Still figuring out how to fix that. I also desperately need to find my wire cutters, since the old pair didn't perform up to requirements.
When I get to the point where I'm consistently satisfied with my products, I'll open an Etsy store and see if I can't possibly make a couple of bucks. I'm really looking forward to this, since it gives me an excuse to sit around and watch movies, an activity I've had to neglect lately. Unfortunately, I most want to watch Japanese movies (there's still some Kurosawa I haven't watched!) and that requires almost constantly watching the screen for subtitles.
Pictures taken with my crappy laptop cam behind the cut.
Crown #1 - faux pearl beads, clear glass beads and one big pearly vintage button.

Crown #2 -- with vintage buttons and faux pearl strands.
