nonionayIt really has been an exciting Christmas, in a mostly good way. Last night, my uncle was shovelling the front walkway, where snow had fallen across it. He heard a rumbling, and ran off just in time to have a load of snow dump literally on his heels.
We also got to welcome a pair of the Sisters whose power got knocked out. They stayed in the retreat center and joined us for Christmas dinner. Sister Kate felt called to be a nurse to the very poor, but the community she joined would only let her nurse the other sisters. So she joined my aunt's community, even though they mainly are teachers, and she worked with AIDS victims back when no one would touch them.
As fun and relaxing as it's been, however, I'm looking forward to getting back to my crass everyday friends.
