Christmas Eve
Dec. 24th, 2008 06:46 amAs of yesterday afternoon, the trains were running, so hopefully I'll be in Portland with my family this afternoon. It may take a long time, but I've got books and my laptop and a long weekend ahead of me. I've also got about 20,000 words ahead of me in the novel, and I'm hoping to tackle a big chunk of those today.
I'm looking forward to my aunt's house. I don't think I've ever had Christmas in her tiny cottage in the woods. She's got tons of beautiful found art sculptures made from the old boiler. Between her woods and the convent grounds, it's going to be a winter wonderland.*
*Assuming they can pick me up from the train station. Otherwise, I guess I'll spend Christmas...in Powells?
