He knows that the core of Nanowrimo is not the churning out of loads and loads of crappy writing (doomed, undoubtedly, to block YOU from the slushpile). It's not even about writing; it's about overcoming your fears and accomplishing something. Whether or not your accomplishment is perfect is irrelevant, you can do something you never thought you could do, and you can have fun and make friends doing it.
