A while back, [livejournal.com profile] kehrli came home with a poster for the Full Metal Alchemist movie. We'd already watched a few of the episodes, so we were puzzled by the odd mix of familiar/unfamiliar on the poster. We spent a long time arguing about who was who. (anime characters really do need funny colored hair to tell everyone apart) When it became obvious that SOME people shouldn't be alive to appear in the movie, we knew something was up. I assumed it would be one of those alternate realities that the Japanese seem so fond of.
By the end of the series (which I love beyond words), things started to make sense. I saw a lot of potential. Too much, in fact, for a two hour long movie.
Yeah, they just should have made another season of the show, then I could have forgiven them all the wierd crap they pulled on me last night. I'm all about giving a series an ending, but you need to tie things up neatly, not hack them off with a chainsaw.

I'll leave the final word on the matter to [livejournal.com profile] kehrli
