Saw a play
Feb. 13th, 2010 10:49 pmI'm down south, visiting my parents. Dad and I just got back from the play, "Scotland Road," by Jeffrey Hatcher. It was very nice, minimalist, well-acted. Afterwards, I was able to turn to my dad and say, "That was magical realism."
In case you're curious, the program description reads, "Near the end of the twentieth century, a beautiful young woman wearing nineteenth century clothing is found floating on an iceberg in the North Atlantic. When rescued she says only the word, "Titanic." She is taken to the coast of Maine and interrogated for six days."
The guy interrogating her is obsessed--like so many people nowadays--with the Titanic, and being on the Titanic and absorbing the mystery.
PS My door pass number was 69.
