Though a part of my brain says it's not eye-meltingly hot, it's still too hot to concentrate. My routine was thrown out of whack by an otherwise lovely party in the park* (Happy Birthday,
spencimusprime!) So no writing today, and now I'm nibbling on the crappy excuse for lefse they had at the local store.
But I dragged out the telescope and stared at the moon some more. I'm getting more used to aiming and focusing it, not to mention getting my upside-down bearings.** Yeah, the sketch I made last night, that so confused me, because I couldn't find it on a map? was on the south end of the moon, not the north. And, it's tilted. So I pulled out the 50x lens, put in the 18x lens, and oriented myself with the big landmarks. I saw that the sun had just risen on the Apollo 11 site.
* FYI Lemon Lime Powerade tastes like Pine Sol. Chrissy used it to douse the BBQ coals rather than waste the water.
** My Galileoscope shows me magical upside down land! Only 15$,
and it teaches me to think upside down!
